2004-08-20 - Changes: Over this last winter the Team’s management has put much thought and time into the best way to further develop the Team and some hard decisions have had to be made and no doubt will continue to have to be!
Previously the Team has been run primarily on a corporate basis and whilst giving of our best having to put the racing second to the corporate aspect of invitation navigators. So for the first time and with the unanimous agreement of this season’s sponsors we are going all out to win the Championship. This therefore means the selection of one navigator for the entire season in order to achieve consistency and avoid the starting handicap we have always had to race with. After all winning will maximise any publicity and offer the best viewing and involvement for all our sponsors and their guests.
Firstly therefore after testing with several different navigators of varying experience the decision has been made to run with Darren Mace, a civil engineer with Gallagher Estates in his day job but has run with us achieving third place at Torquay last season.
Darren’s commitment to the team will see him available for all races and most importantly living only 30 minutes from the Team’s base the availability to help prepare and practice will be vital.
Secondly Siobhan’s role as Team Manager will see a significant change. This season will see her take on more responsibilities with the actual racing and less on the hospitality side. Her primary function will be to co-ordinate all the racing aspects of the Team and will therefore dedicate all her time at race venues to the boat and her crew. Siobhan will also attend all race briefing as this year F4SA have asked for full representation at such from all Team Managers. 2007-04-20 - Construction Racing have received a postiive write up in the Birmingham Post for the first race of the season.

The
Team - 2008
Team Manager
Siobhan Bradshaw
Siobhan has a wealth of experience both in powerboats
and corporate entertainment & hospitality. Construction Racing
provides the perfect platform to combine the two! Apart from overseeing
all aspects of the Team’s finance, logistics and organisation
she offers vital liaison with the sponsors arranging all their
hospitality, accommodation and corporate days.
Siobhan, whilst being very accomplished in boat handling herself
also in the past has worked directly for Honda/Cougar Powerboats
thus knowing the Series’ organisation inside out along with
all the key people involved. |

With many years experience in powerboat racing, including
both 150hp and 225hp Honda boats, Formula 4, V-24’s, ProVee
and running with 7 times world champion Neil Holmes, Marcus now with
Construction Racing runs with a different guest navigator for each
race. The navigators are all corporate invites from the Team’s
various sponsors and through this means introduced some 10 different
people to the thrills of powerboat racing. |

Navigator:
Darren Mace
 |
Darren, originally a guest invite of Halcrow Yolles made his race debut with the Team in 2007 gaining a podium finish first time out at Torquay. His amazing keenest, commitment and ability to spray the champagne like no other should prove invaluable this season. Coming in at a late stage of our preparations is no disadvantage as it is his appreciation of the opportunity that is infectious – “this is the opportunity of a life time”. He has already demonstrated a firm understanding of all aspects of the role, and in particular his commitment to all the work required outside of the actual racing weekends (this is where things are really won or lost) that has convinced the Team he is worthy of his place. |

Reserve Navigators:
Paul Heslop
Paul Wilkins
Rob Burrell
 |
Paul, Infrastructure Manager for Goodman International, is the Team’s most experienced navigator and as such will be ‘first reserve’ for the venues he can attend, Torquay, Lowestoft and Isle of Man. Whilst not being in the boat at these venues his experience and presence will be important.

| Paul Heslop: Reserve Navigator |
|
 |
Paul is MD of Butler & Young and completed a couple of races last season. He is due to attend all the races and as such offers valuable experience. |
| Paul Wilkins: Reserve Navigator |
|
 |
Rob, MD of Solent Structures is new to the Team this season both as a sponsor and navigator. Being the novice of the Team his role will be to learn fast and support the other members as much as he can.
